NPE Gülay Fitoz
Gülay Fitoz is NPE's chief executive officer. She has been active in the (inter)national human rights of women and girls as (board) member, programme-/project manager, consultant, international speaker trainer or as volunteer at women’s organizations such as the YWCA-NL (member part of world’s largest women-led organisations, the World YWCA), Atria Knowledge Institute for Gender Equality and Women’s History, Research& Development Institute of the University of Khartoum University, Platform Women and Sustainable Peace, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ankara.
She has taken part in negotiations and in co-drafting several fundamental international agreements (UNSCR 1325, WPS) into national action plans, such as the Dutch NAP III 1325 or in contributing to shadow reports for UN’s CEDAW- committee (Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women) with an intersectional perspective: attention to the needs of underserved ethnic minority women.
She has been spearheading large scale projects in and outside the Netherlands especially when it comes to the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) and the Youth Peace and Security (YPS) agenda with field experience in armed conflict zones such as Sudan. Besides all, she is researcher of cross-/transnational gender history (women in history) and women’s international cultural heritage.
NPE’s President, Anna Elisabeth Zanen- van Eeghen
Anna, educated as a medical social worker, has a longstanding experience in the field of women’s human rights and as president/ member of boards of different institutes, i.a. university, hospital, social housing company, association of professionals in coaching, capital fund and women’s organisations such as the YWCA-NL.

NPE’s Treasurer Wilhelmina Catherina Johanna Knottenbelt
Mieneke is an award winning (Harriette Freezer ring) pioneer of girls/women in the STEM- sector. She is founder and former CEO of Technika 10-NL (stimulating women’s and girls’ participation in science and technique. Among others she was auditor of the incorporation of science and technique in the curricula of the education system; Treasurer of the Science Centre Association; President of the Women’s network Utrecht Domstad and Advisory board member of the YWCA-NL;
NPE’s Secretary of the board Zehra Sariaslan
Zehra was elected Netherland’s youth representative for the United Nations in 2012. She is a young professional and a renowned international speaker on women’s human rights, with specific focus on women’s political participation.
Currently she works as program analyst on Yemeni refugee women for the United Nations positioned in Jordan (UN-Women). Her former career is marked by her position as Dutch local politician, and Policy advisor at Atria, Knowledge Institute on Gender Equality and Women’s History.
NPE’s Financial audit committee
Ada is the University of Amsterdam’s first female graduate as registered accountant. She has been a business women with her own accountancy company and has extensive experience in auditing both on national as well as on international level. She has worked as a controller for more than 10 years and has been member of several (supervisory) boards, i.a. of the Amsterdam University Fund.
Solvejg Inge (Louise) Verra
Louise has been a member of the Soroptomists in the Netherlands for many years to advance the rights of women. She has more than 21 years of experience as president of a variety of organisations: Radio and TV stations, Animal Welfare Zaanstad, the regional Rotary club and as board member of Platform for Architecture Zaanstad, etc. She has had many positions as manager and head of departments at the municipality of Zaanstad and Centre for arts.
Nathalie van Regenmortel
Nathalie is a socially engaged communication and marketing professional and is occupied with (social) media analyses and editorial projects in Dutch, English and Italian. After working as PR officer at Atria knowledge institute for gender equality and women’s history and completing a traineeship at the European Parliament in Brussels, she is currently working as online PR officer at the Refugee Foundation in the Netherlands. Nathalie i.a. graduated from the University of Utrecht on Gender & Postcolonial studies. She did research on online gender based violence “Exposing Instagram: Commodification, Objectification & Sexual exploitation of Female Bodies in the Contemporary Online Industry.
